Clayton Scoop Silver Award in RHS Competition

Clayton-le-Woods is Blooming Marvellous!

The Parish Council scooped a Silver Award at the RHS North West in Bloom Awards Ceremony in Southport on Friday 2nd November 2018.

The aim of North West in Bloom is to encourage local communities to improve and care for their local environment through imaginative planting of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping, conservation and recycling projects and to eliminate eyesores that blight our environment, such as litter, graffiti and vandalism.

The Parish Council gave its four planted beds a colourful make-over; installed two pop-up floral displays and replanted the flower tower at the mini roundabout by Asda. Hanging baskets adorned Preston Road, Lancaster Lane and Clayton Brook Road, with a feature hanging basket tree at the Pines roundabout.

Councillor Gail Ormston, Co-Ordinator of Clayton-le-Woods in Bloom wished to thank all the residents and Councillors who volunteered to help make this all possible.
